RIC V, Part II, 644 variant
Ex eBay dealer, November 2003

Note from GK - RIC 644 variant, page 86 (no eagle on sceptre). Alföldi type 15, No. 13, Plate VI. (Siscia V, Verzeichnis der Antoniniane des Kaisers Probus. Numizmatikai Közlöny, XXVI-XXXVII, 1937-1938) 1st emission of Siscia, 276 CE.

Note from GK on 01/23/05 - I believe that the explanation for the peculiarity of this mark is as follows - retrograde ligate VI's are recorded for other coins (e.g. Alföldi 26/105; 26/145). These are most probably errors. The celator has started to cut a retrograde mark, and then caught himself and cut a normal ligate VI. This would explain why the right side of the mark is so much weaker.
