France. It was founded in 1818, as cited on the jeton. It did not,
however, make use of jetons de presence until the end of the century. The
present type of jeton, the first issued by this Savings Bank, was
distributed to Administrators present at the General Assembly of 11th May
1894. Jetons bearing the same designs have been distributed at subsequent
General Assemblies; made in two qualities of silver, privy marked '1
Argent' and '2 Argent'.
