RIC Volume I - Augustus to Vitellius (39 BC-69 AD)

Volume I was written by C. H. V. Sutherland and edited by C. H. V. Sutherland and R. A. G. Carson. The latest edition is from 1984 and was last reprinted in 1999. It is 305 pages and 32 pages of plates. This volume is arranged chronologically by issuer, mint, denomination, chronologically within denomination, then alphabetically by reverse legend. Also note - this volume contains many issues for other persons (moneyers under Augustus, children, wives, friends and family of the emperor) mixed under the main sections of the emperor and do not have specific headings for those others. You will need to find them under the emperor himself.

Note: The following table was created from the information in RIC I and David Vagi's "Coinage and History of the Roman Empire" Volumes I and II.
