Pristina Hoard - Pristina, Yugoslavia

The Pristina Hoard was uncovered in 1979 outside Pristina, Yugoslavia and was unfortunately not properly documented because of the Balkan War. The large hoard of over 10,000 denarii was sold off in 1999.  These coins were buried sometime during the reign of Severus Alexander c. 225 and was probably meant to be a military payroll for troops in Illyricum.
